Scope of mathematics

This book aims to show that mathematics is exciting and highly relevant to the modern world. It explains the gradual unfolding of mathematical ideas from primitive notions of number to modern concepts like sets and vectors; it examine what algebra is really about and looks at modern uses of mathematics from computers to cybernetics, from linear programming to probability.
