Better science: assessing progress - curriculum guide 11

Assessing Progress was the eleventh in a series of 12 booklets published by Heinemann and the Association for Science Education to explore the issues arising from moving towards a broad and balanced science education for all young people.

The main purpose of this booklet was to raise some of the key issues relating to assessment in science and provide a measure of updating, both in terms of the development work undertaken by Secondary Science Curriculum Review groups and of national developments in formal examining. It was hoped that this would encourage science teachers to reflect on current practice, both individually and in departments, with a view to bringing about some change.
