Fractions and Decimals
Action Fraction: SMILE card 0598 is a booklet designed to support the teaching and learning of fractions. The booklet begins by using diagrams to explain how to multiply a whole number by a mixed number and is extended to multiplying a mixed number by a mixed number.
Action Decimals: SMILE card 0618 is a booklet which takes the ideas developed in the Action Fraction booklet and translates them to support the teaching and learning of multiplying a decimal with one decimal place by a whole number and a decimal by a decimal.
Decimals to Fractions and Back Again: SMILE card 0754 is a booklet designed to consolidate previous work on fractions and decimals and to show how they are related. The booklet covers decimal notation, converting decimals to fractions, converting fractions to decimals and recurring decimals.
