Surviving in Antarctica
This video from Teachers TV shows the experiences of four British teachers as they undertake a four-week trip to Antarctica, carrying out scientific experiments in order to bring the results back to the scientific community and their students.
One teacher investigates the effect of cold on the human body and another is trying to discover a type of lichen that is thought to exist in the area, but which has never been found.
As time goes on, the trip takes its toll on the teachers both physically and mentally as they experience living in the harshest continent on the planet.
Despite the hardships they endure, the teachers are inspired by their adventure, but will their students show similar enthusiasm when the teachers return to the classroom and share the results of the experiments?
