Fuelled by Air - a New Energy
A case study looking at a new type of rechargeable battery that could store five to ten times more energy than current batteries. The new type of battery is under investigation at the University of St Andrews with funding from the EPSRC. The new batteries would be made from cheaper materials and store more energy than current rechargeable batteries. The case study discusses the impact that this new development could have on industry and transport, describing how the batteries differ and the encouraging results of the research project. This case study is from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). EPSRC is a part of the Research Councils UK (RCUK) partnership of research councils.
