As there are many reasons for lower prior attainment, we will explore a variety of strategies to maximize learning and engage pupils, whilst maintaining high expectations in the subject.

Outcomes
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- explore the barriers and challenges at GCSE for learners with lower prior attainment
- develop strategies and techniques to support learners with lower prior attainment in developing both substantive and disciplinary knowledge at GCSE
- identify approaches to promote engagement and success of learners with lower prior attainment
- reflect on next steps, including at curriculum level, to support learners with lower prior attainment
