Inspire the next generation of scientists

This year-long course, fully funded by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, is designed to help primary school teachers build confidence in their teaching and ignite a love for science in their pupils. Through hands-on training, real-world science applications and engaging teaching techniques, you'll learn how to make science exciting, accessible and inclusive for all pupils.

The course focuses on sparking curiosity, deepening thinking, developing oracy and ensuring every child sees themselves as a scientist. By the end of the programme, you'll be equipped to deliver high-quality science lessons, raise children's aspirations and inspire future generations.

You'll take part in:

  • Face-to-face sessions at the National STEM Learning Centre in York
  • Live online networking sessions to share ideas and best practices
  • Self-paced online learning for flexibility
  • School-based tasks to put your learning into action

We understand the challenges of taking time away from the classroom, so this course includes a £900 teacher release payment (£300 per term) to support your participation, and a pre-course stay in our on-site accommodation.
