What topics are covered?
These courses cover:
- How to create an authentic design and technology experiences for children in your scheme of learning
- D&T from EYFS through to Year 6
- Developing a progression framework for primary D&T
- Understanding different elements of the national curriculum: mechanisms, structures, electrical systems, food and textiles
- Cross curricular opportunities and teaching activities to try in the classroom
How will you learn?
Each of the six courses in this package take around 1 hour to complete. You do not need to be online at any specific time, and you can take the course at your own pace.
How long is this course?
These online, self-paced courses can be completed flexibly. Participants can join and start this course at any time after the advertised date.
These courses are not facilitated. You can learn independently or with colleagues to directly address your individual needs.

Outcomes
The aim of this package is to:
- illustrate key pedagogical approaches to teaching primary D&T,
- provide support to develop an effective and progressive D&T curriculum,
- provide examples of class-based activities to help with D&T planning.
