Summary

As science teachers it can be easy to find it tricky to decide what to focus on to get the most impact for your students in the limited time you have in which to teach. In this course we will look at the evidence base behind the teaching of science as a subject and look at what evidence suggests you should do, and – crucially – do not need to do, in your lesson preparation and in the classroom, so you can be confident in making decisions and relating generic pedagogy to your subject.

The course will draw on the expertise behind the Best Evidence Science Teaching (BEST) resources, which translate research-evidence into learning and teaching materials for the classroom and provide bite-sized episodes of CPD for the teacher.
